The game of roulette is very easy, once you understand the rules of the game and learn the available bets on the roulette board. To master the roulette game means to learn the risks which accompain every bet. In this page about Roulette rules we will look in detail each roulette bet.
The goal of the roulette game is to make a gamble on the result of a ball spun around a wheel, divided into various roulette sections. Each roulette socket is marked by a number and a color. You can bet on a specific number in on which the ball will land, or on some characteristic of that figure. You can gamble, for example, that it will be odd or even, that the ball will land in a black or red pocket, that the lucky number will fall within the first 12 figures, and so on.
There are 2 broad cateogories of roulette bets:
• Roulette inside bets – Roulette inside bets are figures on the internal side of the rouletta table layout, where you can bet on a specific number.
• Roulette outside bets – Roulette outside bets are the bets which lies around the above layout.
Look at the following image to have an idea of the roulette table layout.
Roulette inside bets consist in specific number(s) in the roulette figure layout. You have to pay attention, because roulette rules states that the place bet have to at least match the board minimum. This means that if the board minimum is 3$, you either bet 3$ on one number, or 1$ on three different numbers (or 2$ and 1$ on two numbers).
Here follow the roulette inside bets:
• Roulette Straight up-bet – This is the simplest roulette bet (maybe the most famous, judging by movies on casinos and such): just choose one of the 37 numbers (1-36 plus 0) e bet your money on it. This roulette bet rewards 35 to 1.
• Roulette split bet – Roulette rules let you place a bet on two numbers, provided they are next ot each other in the roulette figure layout; just place the bet on the borderline between the numbers. This roulette bet rewards 17 to 1 if either number shows up.
• Roulette street bet – This bet is similar to the split bet. You can place your bet on three figures which are laid on the same row (e.g. 1-2-3). T do so, place the bet on the outside of the line of numbers you want to bet on This roulette bet rewards 11 to 1.
• Roulette corner bet – Roulette rules let you place a bet in the junction between 4 numbers, by placing the chips on the point where the 4 numbers meet. If one of those 4 numbers come up, this roulette bet rewards 8 to 1.
• Roulette square bet – With this roulette bet, you place the chips on the junction of 0 and 3 on the upper corner. If any of 0, 1, 2 or 3 comes up, you win. This roulette bet rewards 8 to 1.
Roulette rules let the players place their bets outside the zone with the 37 numbers. If 0 comes up, no outside bet will win. According to roulette rules, every outside bet must meet the board minimum (this means that if you want to bet on red and black, and the board minimum is 3$, you have to bet 3$ on black and 3$ on red... no splitting!).
Let's see the roulette outside bets in detail:
• Roulette Low/High Bet – According to roulette rules, this bet let you gamble whether the number that comes up is in the range 1-18 (low) or 19-36 (high). This is an even money bet.
• Roulette Black/Red Bet – This is another even money bet, which let you gamble on the color which will come up. This is one of the easiest to understand bets, by mistakenly assuming that if red comes up, say, 3 times in a row, the next spin there's an high probability of black coming up (which is, obviously, a wrong assumption, as the roulette spin do not remember the previous result).
• Roulette Odd/Even Bet – Another even money bet. According to roulette rules, this bet let you place your chip on on of the squares marked by "odd" or "even", gambling the outcome of the next number.
• Roulette Columns Bet – This roulette bet let you place your chips in one of the three columns on the outside border of the roulette table layout, in one of the 3 squares marked as "2:1"; this roulette bet rewards 2 to 1.
• Roulette Dozens Bet – According to roulette rules, there are various kind of bets. This roulette bet let you gamble if the number that will come up will be in the range of one of the 3 possible dozens (1-12; 13-24; 25-36, usually marked as "1st 12", "2nd 12" and "3rd 12"). This roulette bet, too, rewards 2 to 1.
